The contract “Multi-year maintenance of dredging sludge depot Hollandsch Diep and Put van Cromstrijen” is awarded to Combination Baggerbedrijf De Boer B.V. and Dredging and Bagger- en Aannemingsmaatschappij Van der Kamp B.V..
The depot, an artificial island, is located in the Dordtse Kil just before the Moerdijk. One of the plus points in the offer is a new electric service vessel that will be specially built for this contract.
The dredge sludge depots Hollandsch Diep and Put van Cromstrijen are familiar territory for the Combination. Since 2014, De Boer and Van der Kamp have been operating the depots for Rijkswaterstaat. The existing contract team is pleased that they will be able to continue their knowledge and experience of and in the area and the relationships they have built up with the Competent Authority, disposers and transporters for the next five years. The core of the work consists of receiving (accepting) and finally recovering contaminated dredged material.
“Baggerbedrijf De Boer and Bagger- en Aannemingsmaatschappij Van der Kamp are both family businesses, owned by the second and fifth generation. Stewardship is in our DNA in all areas and sustainability is not a hip term or meaningless concept, but is expressed in long-term solutions and relationships, ”says Kees van de Graaf, director of Baggerbedrijf de Boer. "That is why we are happy that we can continue to use our knowledge and experience here."
Depot manager Harry Blokland “The great thing is that depot management takes place at the intersection of ecology, soil and water. In recent years, for example, we have implemented nature-inclusive management in a versatile way and demonstrated that industry and ecology can go hand-in-hand with the right knowledge and skills", "We have even welcomed beavers as inmates".
